Tobacco Blend – Honduras, Panama

This Black Market Filthy Hooligan 2019 has an olive green candela and milk chocolate jalapa colored wrapper barber poled throughout the entire stick. There are minimal veins and obvious seams as with any barber pole smoke!

Aroma – Nutty

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Nuts and Tea

After Toast:

First Third – Cream, nuts and red pepper start this smoke off with a light earthy meaty note on the finish. A light crème de menthe note comes out towards the end of the third as well as a light leather. The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.

Second Third – The Creamy nut notes mixed with the light earthy / leathery finish continue into this third. Some grassy notes come forth as well in this third. The burn remains sharp and ash falls at the beginning of this third.

Final Third – Creamy yet salty nuts continue but the grassy notes really pick up here with some baking spice. The burn remains sharp.

Suggested Pairing:

Scotch – Johnnie Walker White Walker

Wine – Ponzi Pinot Noir

Overall Experience:

This Alec Bradley Filthy Hooligan 2019 is a solid special release by the Alec Bradley team. The cream, nuts, earth and leather really are great throughout the stick and then the final third gives a really nice surprise with the salt and baking spice. I do think the Shamrock was definitely a more complex version of the Filthy Hooligan, but this one is more accessible so if you can find it grab it before they are gone.
